Tour Tahlequah

A little bit about Tahlequah:
A
stroll down Muskogee Avenue in historic downtown Tahlequah (only 4
blocks from the Scrappin' Pad) will afford the opportunity to visit
galleries, eclectic local restaurants, boutiques and antique stores. A
shopper can find everything from vintage clothing to fine jewelry and
exquisite home furnishing to organic foods to items you’ll find nowhere
else but Tahlequah.
Tahlequah is rich in natural, cultural and historical resources. There
is an underlying sense of the past – a rich foundation on which
Tahlequah is built. The Cherokee language on storefronts and street
signs serves as a tangible reminder.
In addition to being a hub for those seeking Cherokee genealogy and
history information, the sparkling waters of the Illinois River and Lake
Tenkiller attract hundreds of thousands aquatic recreational
enthusiasts. Our rich forests and hills are home to all nature of
wildlife year round.
Tahlequah is home to Northeastern State University. Stately Seminary
Hall, the centerpiece of the campus, served as the Cherokee National
Female Seminary prior to statehood.
